THE LIST or How my daughter really sees me

I had to share this list. I was just cleaning up messy corners in my house (as one does when one has nothing better to do) and that’s where I found this treasure of a list. My now 11yr old daughter must have written it 1-2 years back as I am not running the cafe anymore, but man, it had me chuckling. It is a list about me, Continue reading “THE LIST or How my daughter really sees me”

Mango Pomegranate Ice Cream w/ Kiwi Sauce

It’s mango season, at least in my part of the world of Australia, NSW. I have 4 trees around my house and they go ‘nuts’, hanging so low with mangos that even toddlers would have access to them. What a yellow sweet, juicy and sticky delight! Anyway, this raw mango ice cream I created a few years back when I still gave raw, vegan cooking classes and it was Christmas. I thought it’s a great time to share it with you no matter what the season. Continue reading “Mango Pomegranate Ice Cream w/ Kiwi Sauce”

A Rescue Dog’s Wisdom – Adult life Fact #3

That rescue greyhound undid me. I started crying. Her joy of having a yard to race around in, that I came down the stairs so early in the morning and gave her a pad. That I had some attention to spare.
After hanging out with Daisy, suddenly pain welled up in me, I knelt next to her and tears began to flow.  Continue reading “A Rescue Dog’s Wisdom – Adult life Fact #3”

Poem: Bury My Name

You can bury my name,
it will only feed the ground with its rage.

I am nothing, not even no one,
So toss the memory of me and swallow my breath.
Dive into my endless ocean,
embrace the air that’s me.   Continue reading “Poem: Bury My Name”

Is accessing our Memories actual Time Travel?

Fancying the 1800’s, the 60’s or 2057? I am certainly not the only one who dreams of time travel and ponders all its possibilities. However, the one thing I am often thinking about (nerd that I am) is, do we time travel regularly and don’t know about it? For example, by remembering our past, do we activate a part of our brain, or actually visit the past? Or maybe both at the same time? Continue reading “Is accessing our Memories actual Time Travel?”

Self-Love 101 #5: Accepting My Hearts Desires

For a few minutes today I dedicate my attention to my desires, which I carry in the stillness of me, always present, always patiently waiting.

Today I fully accept them as my desires. Every single one is justified and allowed. I am not making one need or want wrong, or compare it to anyone else.

Just for this moment, I allow Continue reading “Self-Love 101 #5: Accepting My Hearts Desires”

Culture Shock: When it’s hard to be a German Overseas

We Germans are known for many things. Our diligence, our conviction to make quality a priority, our scientific and cultural mind, our historical heritage, as well as World War I & II, our technological contributions to the world, like the car and engines, and last but not least soccer, cakes and beer, of course.  Continue reading “Culture Shock: When it’s hard to be a German Overseas”
